Breakfast for the mind and body

Breakfast for the mind and body

Breakfast for the mind and body is one of my favorite breakfast recipes. This is what gives me the energy to start the day.

What makes this recipe great is that it can be stored. I don’t want to eat the same thing for breakfast every day, which is why this recipe is great – I can store it and eat it whenever I want to, that makes it a lot easier for me to have different breakfast recipes every day without too much work. Also, I normally make a portion of muesli when I’m making ‘Breakfast for the mind and body’ that way I have two different portions of breakfast that I can mix into my daily routine.

Keep in mind that the ingredients are only meant as an inspiration, which is the beauty of this recipe – You can choose to add more seeds or dried fruits as you wish, or even other ingredients, it’s really up to you. But, DON’T put too many dried fruits into the mix – Dried fruit contains sugar and too much is therefore not particularly healthy for you, so try to mix your favorite ingredients into the mix but keep the dried fruits to a minimum.

Ingredients

10 1/2 cups (800g) oatmeal
1/2 cup (70g) almonds
1 cup (140g) pumpkin seeds
1 cup (140g) sunflower seeds
1/2 cup (50g) raisins
1/2 cup (50g) cranberries
1/2 cup (50g) dates
1/2 cup (50g) sesame seeds
2-3 tbsp raw chocolate
2 tbsp cinnamon
4 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

1
I always make a large portion so I’ll have it for some time. Find a large bowl and start to put all the dried ingredients into the bowl (except the almonds).
2
Cut the dried fruits and almonds into smaller bits (optional) and place them into the bowl.
3
Add the olive oil and mix the ingredients together … It’s as simple as that.

  1. I love the fact you can mix and match this recipe to your liking! The fact it’s something you can make ahead is also great!

I often make a kilo of this, so I have it for some time.
