Coconut Coffee Body Scrub

Coconut coffee body scrub

Ahhh…there’s nothing like the smell of fresh coffee in the morning!

This coconut coffee body scrub is perfect for the morning shower to kick off your day. Plus, it reduces cellulite and stretch marks.

Active Ingredients

Coffee

The caffeine in coffee grounds has very benefiting qualities in reducing cellulite. The caffeine absorbs into your skin and dehydrates the fluid in the body’s tissue, so your skin becomes (temporarily) tighter and firmer.

Sugar

Sugar has gentle exfoliating qualities for the skin.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is perfect for beauty routine purposes and it has incredible qualities, including:

Saturated Fats

These fats help retain the moisture content of the skin, as they eliminate moisture loss through the skin’s pores. This makes the saturated fats key to keeping the skin smooth.

Disinfectant and antimicrobial fatty acids

Lauric acid, caprylic acid, and decanoic acid. These three fatty acids have disinfectant and antimicrobial properties. Therefore coconut oil protects from microbial infections that can get into open wounds or through the pores.

Antioxidant Vitamin E

Its high vitamin E levels help regenerate the skin. Vitamin E is essential for healthy skin growth, repair of the skin, keeping the skin smooth and protects it from cracking. It also prevents premature aging and wrinkling of the skin, because of its antioxidant properties.

These active ingredients give coconut oil an anti-aging effect.

Coconut Coffee Body Scrub

¼ cup Coffee grounds

3 TBSP Sugar or Brown Sugar (can be substituted with salt if you don’t have sensitive skin)

2-3 TBSP Coconut oil, melted

The scrub can be stored in a glass jar. Or, if you’re making a larger batch, store in the freezer in ice cube trays, or muffin tins.

Use 2-3 mornings a week.
